Dear Friends and Family of the Preborn Child,
The world dean of geneticists, Dr. Jerome Lejeune, of Paris, France, passed away at sunrise on Easter morning, 1994. Just as the sun was lifting the fog from the city of Paris, and illuminating the throats of the Easter lilies that would trumpet the resurrection dawn, Jerome Lejeune went home. Pope John Paul II issued a statement at the time of his death commending his ‘apostolate of life’ and finding more than coincidence in his passing on Easter morning. As you know, the beatification process for Dr. Lejeune is underway and he is presently referred to as ‘venerable’.
Dr. Lejeune was to the world of genetics what Einstein was to the world of physics. It was my undeserved and humble honor to share his friendship. In 1983, eleven years before his passing, he wrote me a letter setting forth in broad terms his idea for a suggested movie that could be made promoting what he was wont to call “the good cause of children yet to be”.
Following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, we are witnessing the beginning of a spiritual revival in our nation led by young people, the leaders of tomorrow. We pray for peace in the world to counter the devil’s mischief of stirring up war. In the prolife community, we understand the greater mischief of the devil’s war against preborn children (60 million and counting).
Dr. Lejeune’s movie must be made and I send this out in the hope that someone will share his vision and be instrumental in making it a reality.
Yours very sincerely and respectfully,
R. Martin Palmer
