Dear Friends and Family of the Preborn Child,
The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.(Zachariah 12:1)
The ‘mother-to-be’ senses the presence of a new spirit (soul) within her. If we could but see it, the human embryo figuratively glows with a white hot incandescence having just been released from the fingertip of God.
Abortion was on the ballot in 10 states. Three states voted for restrictions; 6 states added varying ‘rights’ to their state constitutions; and Nevada needs to vote again for final approval.
In Arizona abortion has been currently legal through 15 weeks of pregnancy following the recent repeal of an 1864 law that banned all abortions except those performed to save the life of the mother. Arizona Proposition 139, the citizen led initiative, sought to establish a ‘fundamental right’ to abortion through fetal viability up until birth when deemed “necessary to protect the life or health of the pregnant individual”. Arizona had it right in 1864, before the advent of modern fetology and before ultrasound put windows on the womb.
The culture of death employed the same devilish trickery of language in the pro-abortion initiatives that passed. Maryland’s legislature referred a constitutional amendment that used this word trickery to depersonalize the preborn child’s killing. This constitutional amendment sought to create:
A “fundamental right to reproductive freedom” including the “the ability to prevent, continue or end the individual’s pregnancy”.
Notice they use the word “individual’s pregnancy” in place of “woman’s” or “mother’s” pregnancy. In reality the word pregnancy itself refers to the occupancy of a preborn child created in the Holy Image of God.
“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” (Psalm 139:14)
We need to be about educating people, especially young people, to the truth of that scripture. Take an eye, for instance, just one eye! – A marvelous, miraculous creation of God. Education of the realities of preborn life changed the court, and education alone, (not law) will be the final protection of preborn children. Even a state law outlawing all abortion alone does not protect preborn children from chemical abortion (RU486); education of mothers may.
Where do we go from here? We educate and pray.
Education is more effective than debate.
Education is more effective than discord.
Education is more effective than law.
We need billboards, literature and words and workshops that educate on the beauties of preborn life. Dr. Lejeune said it best: “I prefer to persuade with the beauties of life rather than its horrors.”
Yours very sincerely and respectfully,
Martin Palmer
